Quickly Build a Giant Fountain in 2-Hours!

This might sound hard to believe, but setting up a large triple fountain kit in your landscape can be done in just 2-3 hours without heavy machinery or contractors. How do I know? I’ve done it many times and am confident that you can do it too! It doesn’t have to cost several thousands of dollars either. Let's get started! A water feature is the first thing to consider when building out your landscape. In most cases they are the centerpiece of your space that brings life and movement to the environment. I’ve put together a list of tips that I think can help you prepare for installation of a fountain kit: 

1. First, find a space for your water feature to be enjoyed. You’ll need to choose a 4’x4’ area that is diggable. I recommend choosing a spot outside a window so you can enjoy your fountain from inside and outside. The front door entryway and backyard socializing areas are very popular. 

2. Choose a fountain kit. Concrete Giants offer several different faux rock water features that are all available in custom colors. 3. Here's a few things you can do while waiting for your fountain kit to arrive: 

1. • Contact 811 “call before you dig” in your state. This is a free service to locate any electrical, gas, plumbing and other important underground lines. Be safe and never skip this step! Make adjustments until you can confirm a safe spot to dig. 

   • Get some digging done early. Your first dig is just 4’x4’x6” deep. You can get a head start if you’d like. If your land is on a slope, you may have to build up one side to get a level ground, this actually makes for less digging. 

   • Pickup four 5-Gallon buckets of 1” river rocks. This will be enough to cover the basin deck. Get more if you plan on covering the liner edges with rock too. This all depends on the overall look you desire. 

   • Make sure you have a shovel. If the ground is packed tightly you may need a pickaxe to break it up. It also helps to have measuring tape, marking spray paint, scissors and a level.

4. When the fountain kit arrives, spend some time reading through the installation guide as you enjoy your morning coffee. It’s a quick read with a few pages that include photo examples of each step.

5. On installation day, simply follow the step-by-step installation guide until you are complete. If you run into any problems you can even call for help. Pro Tip: I recommend preparing a crock pot dinner that day or, if you're like me, ordering a large pizza. When finished with your fountain you can relax and enjoy your new water feature while eating a hot and ready dinner. 

6. Once complete, test everything to make sure it’s running smoothly. The plumbing valves allow you to easily adjust the water levels on the bubblers for the look you desire. It's really that easy!
